FAQs
Where does my contribution go?
95% of your contribution goes to the charity/ NGO of your choosing.
5% of your contribution goes to Betterverse Ltd. We are a for-profit company and this revenue will go towards things like development, marketing, creative, cloud computing, payroll and other costs needed to run our business and platform. We also use this 5% to cover fees incurred by payment providers, banks and crypto/ foreign exchange platforms.
How can I trust Betterverse to properly distribute funds?
Due to the transparent nature of blockchain, our licensed charity/ NGO partners are able to easily verify exactly how much money has been given by our users and so will easily be able to flag any transfer discrepancies.
What journey does my contribution take?
Your contribution is initially held by Betterverse within our secure charity/ NGO wallets. We distribute the contributions to each organisation periodically. If our partners have their own wallets and accept crypto then we happily transfer USDC straight to them. If they're not quite ready to start accepting crypto and would prefer to stick to traditional currencies, we use a 3rd party foreign exchange platform to transfer funds to the charity/ NGO in their preferred currency.
Why does my contribution go to Betterverse before the charity/ NGO?
The world of crypto can often feel overwhelming for organisations and so we wanted to provide an easy onboarding process for all charities/ NGOs we work with regardless of if they have their own crypto wallet or not.
Are my contributions tax deductible?
Laws surrounding charities/ NGOs and charitable giving are different in every region and so giving to an organisation does not automatically mean you'll be entitled to tax deductions. We recommend you speak to an accountant within your specific region before making any assumptions.
